In the morning for breakfast I usually have the so called “Miam O Fruit”, that is the fruit & cold pressed oils salad created by France Guillain. However France Guillain’s method is just one way to wellness, not the only one. Sometimes I feel the need to have breakfast with something warm, round and white.
Oat is a very important cereal for the body because, due to its soluble fiber, helps to lower the level of cholesterol in the blood and increase the sense of satiety. In addition, along with almond milk, ensures better bowel function.
Here is the recipe of my white breakfast! It ‘s simple, quick to prepare, cheap, vegan and delicious.
Large oat flakes
Unsweetened almond milk
I measure a tea cup of unsweetened almond milk and pour it into a saucepan along with a handful of organic raisins on low heat. After a few minutes the milk rises and becomes foamy, then I turn off the flame. Put the mixture into a bowl and add 5 tablespoons of large oatmeal flakes, a teaspoon of rice malt and a dash of cinnamon. Taste this dish warm with a cup of bancha tea.
If you want to enrich this breakfast, you can add: 1 tablespoon of chopped nuts, such as walnuts, hazelnuts or cashews, or 1 teaspoon of pollen or 1 tablespoon of dried wild berries.
Almond milk can be replaced with rice milk, although I prefer the almond milk because it is a rich source of calcium, magnesium and vitamin B.
Personally I buy cinnamon, along with all of the other spices and teas that I use at home, in the grocery and not to the supermarket where they lie in the plastic for years. In Genoa, San Bernardo Street, we are fortunate to have an institution shop, Torielli grocery, where you can find delights from all over the world and precious spices which are very hard to find. You just need to be very patient … because there is often a long queue!
